DIY Tooth Whitening Procedures
Tooth whitening has long been a popular service at dentist and toothcare clinics. The only problem is, tooth whitening procedures can cost quite a lot if you have it done professionally. If you are looking to get whiter teeth, then you may want to try one of the numerous methods of do-it-yourself tooth whitening. This article will cover two tooth whitening procedures that are not only cheap, but you can do them yourself in the comfort of your own home.
1. Strawberries and baking soda
One of the most popular means of do-it-yourself tooth whitening is using strawberries and baking soda. The advantage of this method is that it makes use of two ingredients that you can easily find in the grocery store. All you have to do is pick up a pack of strawberries and a small package of baking soda and you will have the ingredients to keep your teeth bright and white for weeks or even months. To start, place one or two strawberries in a small cup or bowl and mash them to a pulp. Slowly add baking soda until you get the consistency of a soft toothpaste. Then, just scoop some of the mixture, place it on your toothbrush and brush your teeth as you normally would. Leave it for 5 minutes and then brush your teeth with ordinary toothpaste. Repeat the procedure once a day for 1 week and you’ll notice the difference in no time.
2. Rhubarb and water
This second mixture may not be as easy to find as strawberries, but it makes use of a similar principle. If you can get hold of some rhubarb from the supermarket or from the local farmer’s market, then you’re in business because that is all you need for this tooth whitening procedure. Slice up the rhubarb into pieces that are small enough for the food processor. Place the sliced pieces into the processor and run the processor, adding water to smoothen out the texture into a silky juice. Then, take some of the juice into your mouth and brush your teeth with it. Make sure not to swallow the juice and to brush your teeth with regular toothpaste when done.
